Wholesale prices
Despite a slight decrease from previous month in the German wholesale prices in July were well above the previous year.
Ores and metals cost in July at the wholesale level for almost a quarter more than last month.
The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports quoted the wholesale prices in July, again by 5.3 percent from a year earlier month. In June, the annual inflation rate still at 5.1 percent, the first located after six consecutive increases below the level of the previous month (May: +6.2% yoy). Compared with June, wholesale prices in July fell by 0.3 percent.
The highest annual inflation rate registered the statisticians in the wholesale of metals and metal ores, where prices in July were 23.3 percent higher than in the same month last year, but decreased compared with June by 1.1 percent. Solid fuels and oil products in July were at the wholesale level by 10.3 percent more expensive than last year reduced prices, compared to June but also significantly (-2.7%).
In the agri-food sector goods rose in July of the year was mainly fruit, vegetables and potatoes (+11.5% compared to July 2009). Also, compared with June prices rose here continues to grow (+1.5%). Milk and milk products, eggs, edible oils and fats were significantly more expensive than the same month last year (+9.0%). Grain, seed and feed are also more expensive of the year was up 5.6 percent compared with June by 2.1 percent.
